Women's Track Competes On Day One At ACC Championships

CLEMSON, S.C. - The Boston College women's track team opened competition at the 2010 ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at the Rock Norman Track and Field Complex on the campus of Clemson University.
Sophomore Kelsey Huckins competed in the discus throw on Thursday and recorded a mark of 49.21m. Her throw was good enough for second place in the event, and took home eight points for the Eagles.
Huckins also shattered the school record in the discus which was previously 45.78m by Megan Kearney in 2003.
Senior Mallory Champa put in a solid effort as well in the 10000m run finishing in 12th place with a time of 36:27.37.
The Eagles currently sit in seventh place with eight points in the championships.
