Lacrosse Earns First National Ranking

The Boston College lacrosse team has moved into the 18th spot on this week's Inside Lacrosse Women's Media Poll.
This is the first time in team history that the Eagles have earned a national ranking, after starting the 2010 season 6-1. BC defeated its first six opponents, including ACC foe Virginia Tech, before losing 7-6 to No.2 Maryland this past weekend.
This season has marked a number of firsts for Boston College, having recorded the longest winning streak in team history (six games) and also the best start to a season (6-0).
Senior Lauren Costello was also recently featured on "Inside ACCess." Costello currently leads the league in assists per game (2.71), points per game (6.14) and game-winning goals (5). She leads the Eagles with 42 points (23 goals and 19 assists) on the season and is also ranked fourth nationally in total points and is third in points per game.
Junior goalie Sheila Serafino sits in fourth place on the NCAA list for lowest goals-against average. Through seven games she has played 407 minutes and has a 5.74 GAA. She has also tallied 51 saves.
The Eagles host Vermont tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. on the Newton Campus Lacrosse Field. They will return to ACC action this Saturday, March 24, when North Carolina will travel to Newton, Mass. to take on the BC at 12:00 p.m.
