CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College head lacrosse coach, Bowen Holden, has announced the promotion of Jennifer Kent from volunteer assistant to assistant coach. Kent spent the 2009 season as the Eagles' volunteer assistant, coaching alongside Holden and Assistant Coaches Caroline McGuire and CJ Yanofsky. Yanofsky has since left the team to pursue a master's degree. Kent will assume more office responsibilities this year, and she will continue in her role as defensive coordinator for the Eagles' program in 2010.
"I am pleased to announce Jen's promotion, and I am thrilled to know that she will be around even more this coming year," Holden said. "Jen had a huge impact on our team last year, and she is essential to the program and my staff as a whole. Together with Caroline McGuire, I could not be happier with the staff I have in place for the coming season."
Kent began her coaching career at the Hyde School in Bath, Maine and later became the head coach at Norwell High School in 1998. While at Norwell, she led the team to two Massachusetts state titles in 2005 and 2006, earning her Massachusetts Coach of the Year honors in 2005. Kent is a graduate of Thayer Academy and Colby College `90 where she competed in soccer, basketball and lacrosse.
She currently resides in Norwell, Mass. with her husband, Jeff, and their six children.
