The Boston College softball team had its doubleheader against Rhode Island called due to steady rain in the area.
The games will not be rescheduled.
The two teams took the field for the first game amidst a light rain that grew heavier after the first pitch.
BC was leading 5-3 heading into the top of the fourth inning when the game was called. Trailing 3-0, the Eagles had rallied for five runs in the bottom of the third inning on three hits, including a two run home run by Brittany Wilkins, and a single by Blair Destito that drove in two runs.
The Eagles will host NC State at Shea Field for a three-game series this weekend. The first game is set to begin on Friday at 4:00 p.m.
