Women's Lacrosse Loses to Duke 14-9

The Boston College women's lacrosse team lost to the Duke University Blue Devils 14-9 in their final regular season ACC game on Saturday at the Newton Campus.
The Eagles are now (7-7) on the season and (0-5) in the ACC.
BC opened the scoring in the first with a three goal run. Sophomore Kristin Igoe opened the scoring with a goal just under two minutes into the first frame assisted by senior Lauren Fitzpatrick. The goal was quickly followed up by another tally by Fiztpatrick and a dish by freshman Brittany Wilton from Jill Rekart.
Duke got on the board with a free position shot to make it 3-1 at 3:52 in the period.
The score held steady until 13:09 when Duke scored again to bring them within one. The Eagles responded at 14:45 with a second goal for Wilton assisted by junior Lauren Costello.
The Blue Devils scored the next two, to tie it at four apiece. Duke took the lead for the first time in the game at 24:10 and the score 5-4 in favor of the Blue Devils.
Duke added two more in the first and Costello and Fitzpatrick each added a goal for the Eagles to send the game into halftime with a tie score of 7-6 in favor of the Blue Devils
In the second half Duke opened the scoring at 2:46 with a three goal run to open the score to 10-6. Costello added two more goals in the second half and Rekart added one, but the Eagles could not overcome the deficit and fell to the Blue Devils 14-9.
The Eagles travel to New York for a non-conference game with Siena on Tuesday before returning home for a match-up with Bryant University on Friday April 17 at 4:30 p.m.
