The Boston College field hockey team couldn't fight through the elements on a snowy afternoon as it dropped a non-conference game to the University of New Hampshire 3-2 at Memorial Field.
The loss drops the Eagles to 11-4 for the season, while the win improves the Wildcats to 9-6.
New Hampshire opened the scoring in the third minute of play as Hayley Rausch scored her eighth goal of the season.
The Eagles tied the game in the 11th minute of play as junior Janna Anctil scored her ninth goal of the season to continue her hot-streak at she has now registered five points in her last two games.
The Wildcats regained the lead in the 24th minute on a goal from Kyle Lyons to make the score 2-1.
That is the way things would stay going into the half. BC, even though they trailed going into the half, held the advantage in the halftime stats. The Eagles outshot UNH 7-6, and held the edge in penalty corners 4-3.
Boston College tied the game again at 2-2 in the 47th minute on a Kate Gillis goal. The goal was Gillis's seventh of the season.
New Hampshire's leading scorer Meg Shea gave the Wildcats the lead for good in the 54th minute with her 19th goal of the season.
The Eagles made a last-ditch effort to even the score in the final minutes as they pulled senior goalie Kristine Stigas but couldn't come up with the tying-goal.
Boston College is back in action on Sunday, October 25 at 1 p.m. as it will host Syracuse on senior day.
