CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - As the Boston College football team rested its legs from its third scrimmage on Sunday night, the Eagles took part in a media training seminar with Bob Goodrich and Annie Hoffman Goodrich. The pair addressed the entire team before breaking into groups where they taught student-athletes in a one-on-one setting.
Bob Goodrich and Annie Hoffman Goodrich are a part of Sportscast Stars Training and travel the country to teach organizations how to properly interview with the media. Bob Goodrich is a legendary sports producer who has won 14 Emmy Awards. From 1980-86, he served as the producer of Monday Night Football. Goodrich was the producer of ABC Sports' coverage of college football for 15 years and has also produced Super Bowls, PGA majors, and Olympic coverage.
Emmy-nominated Annie Hoffman Goodrich was executive producer of WKNR Sports Radio in Cleveland and was the only woman in that time to reach that level. She has worked with ABC, CBS, NBC, ESPN, and SPORTSCHANNEL on such events as the 1998 Winter Olympics, the Super Bowl and the Indianapolis 500. She has also worked on "NFL Monday Night Football."
The Eagles were taught the do's and don'ts of interviewing etiquette and were shown examples of both good and bad interviews in the sports world. Afterwards, players got a chance to interact one-on-one with Bob and Annie for an interview where the two shared their insights and helped each player improve his skills.
BC will get back to the practice field on Tuesday with another double session.
