Delagrammaticas Named To 2008 ACC Championship All-Tournament Team

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Freshman shortstop Irene Delagrammaticas, who batted a team-high .600 batting average in the ACC tournament, was named to the 2008 ACC Championship All-Tournament Team, announced Sunday by the conference.
Delagrammaticas, a native of Vista, Calif., earns the award for the first time in her career. In her five at-bats, she batted .600, notched a .600 on-base percentage and a .800 slugging percentage, all team-highs. She also tallied three hits, including a double and scored a run.
The 2008 Championship All-Tournament Team included 12 members, nominated by the conference's eight head coaches. The other 11 athletes named to the team included Florida State's Brittany Osmon, Maryland's Brittany Bessho, Alyssa Albritten, Kristine Bechtholdt, Lindsay Campana and Shanna Smith from NC State, Jennifer Jacobs and Danielle Spaulding from North Carolina and Erin Ota and Jenna Rhodes from Virginia Tech. Senior pitcher Angela Tincher, who struck out 39 batters in three games, was named the tournament MVP.
