Softball Falls 6-0 To Pacific Tigers

Stockton, Calif. - The Boston College softball team (7-10, 0-0 ACC) fell to the Pacific Tigers (9-12) by a score of 6-0 at the Bill Simoni Field Wednesday.
The Eagles, unable to drive in a run, collected two hits in the game from senior Amanda Booth and sophomore Taylor Peyton. Booth recorded her thirteenth hit of the season, second most on the team.
Both teams went scoreless in the first two innings. Freshman Allison Gage (3-7) got her ninth start of the season and allowed just one hit through the two innings. The Tigers then rallied for five hits and five runs in the bottom of third inning. Junior Savana Lloyd came in to replace Gage, pitching just over two innings. She allowed one run to score in the bottom of the fifth on a wild pitch. Peyton came in to finish the rest of the game, facing five batters. She allowed no hits and a walk.
Pacific pitcher Chelsea Engle (7-4) got the win, pitching six innings and allowing one hit to Booth in the top of the sixth. Peyton notched BC's second hit in the top of seventh against replacement pitcher Heidi Helberg, her tenth hit of the season.
The Eagles will travel back to Hayward, Calif. to compete in the National Invitational Softball Tournament hosted by San Jose State beginning Friday. The tournament will conclude BC's California road trip.
