Softball Season Kicks Off Friday

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College softball team begins its 2008 campaign Friday at the East Carolina Pirate Invitational in Greenville, N.C.

The East Carolina tournament hosts three other squads: Boston College, Maine and Ohio. The Eagles play in their first game on Friday at 10 a.m. against the Ohio Bobcats. They continue action at 2 p.m. against East Carolina. On Saturday they will play Maine at 10 a.m. and then depending on their seed, will compete again at 2 p.m. or 4 p.m. Sunday's games will decide the tournament champion.

"We're ready to get down there and play," head coach Jen Finley said. "We've had enough time to practice up here and are looking forward to a strong start this season."
