Senior quarterback Matt Ryan completed 12-of-19 passes for 94 yards in the Boston College football team's third preseason scrimmage Sunday afternoon in Alumni Stadium. Senior running back Andre Callender returned to the lineup and carried the ball 16 times for 53 yards on the day, while junior A.J. Brooks had 14 carries for 42 yards.
"I was happy with today," Coach Jeff Jagodzinski said. "We've still got some work to do, and we've got 13 days to get it done."
Defensively, a pair of sophomore linebackers led the way as Mark Herzlich and Mike McLaughlin each registered seven tackles.
"As long as you're improving every week, we're making a step toward Wake Forest and that's what we're preparing for." Jagodzinski said. "I saw some things up front on both sides that I liked today. I thought we ran the ball better today, moved the ball well from the 50-yard-line going in. I thought we threw the ball pretty well and started moving the ball down the field. We were stringing first downs together, we got a couple of explosive plays."
The Eagles will take the day off Monday before returning to the practice field Tuesday and then conducting a situational scrimmage on Wednesday.
