Brooks Wallace Watch List Announced

LUBBOCK, Texas - Three Boston College baseball players were named to the Brooks Wallace Watch List to be recognized as National Player of the Year candidates by the College Baseball Foundation. Senior pitcher Terry Doyle, junior third baseman Eric Campbell and sophomore catcher Tony Sanchez were selected to the pre-season list.
Doyle posted a 4-5 record last season, including three saves in 69.0 innings as both a starter and reliever. During his three years at BC, Doyle has compiled a 15-13 record, 4.14 ERA and 185 strikeouts in 215.1 innings.
Campbell earned second-team All-ACC honors in 2007. The cleanup hitter led the Eagles in eight offensive categories, including batting average (.350), hits (70), doubles (20), RBIs (41), total bases (102), extra-base hits (24), slugging percentage (.510) and on-base percentage (.432).
Sanchez enters his sophomore year at the Heights after finishing third on the team in batting average (.318), hits (57) and RBIs (28). Sanchez also threw out 38.3 percent (23-for-60) of steal attempts last season.
The Eagles start the season on Feb. 22 against Georgia Southern in Statesboro, Ga., at 7 p.m.
