Baseball Falls To No. 5 North Carolina, 5-2

Chapel Hill, N.C. - Back-to-back RBI doubles by Reid Fronk and Chad Flack in a four-run fifth inning helped lift No. 5 North Carolina to a 5-2 win over Boston College in game two of the series in Chapel Hill.
In the fifth, a Matt Cavasinni double sent Seth Williams, who had reached on a hit by pitch, to third. Fronk then plated both runners with a double of his own to right to tie the score at 2-2. The third straight Tarheel double sent Fronk around to give UNC a 3-2 lead. Josh Horton added an RBI single to center, putting the Tarheels ahead by for good.
The Eagles were first to get on the scoreboard for the second consecutive night. Jared McGuire and Dave Preziosi started the fourth inning with back to back singles. After a double steal moved both runners into scoring position, Ryan Hutchinson scored McGuire with a sacrifice fly to center.
In the following inning, Ryne Reynoso reached on an error, advancing to second on the play. Pete Frates followed with a single to right field to give BC a 2-0 lead.
Terry Doyle surrendered four earned in 6.2 innings of work, while striking out six as he failed to earn his fourth straight conference victory.
The Eagles (28-24-1, 9-20 ACC) will finish the season tomorrow against UNC (44-11, 21-8 ACC) at noon in Chapel Hill.
