Softball Drops 15-7 Decision to Georgia Tech

Atlanta, Ga. - The Boston College softball team fell to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, 15-7, completing the weekend series in Atlanta, Ga. Kristin Allain led the Eagles' offense as the senior went 3-for-3, including one home run, two singles and one RBI. Angela Pandolfo connected on her second home run of the season. The Eagles are stand at 16-20 and 2-13 in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Georgia Tech got on the scoreboard in the first with a one-run inning. In the second frame, the bats came alive as the Eagles scored six runs. Angela Pandolfo collected three RBIs with a home run to left field, driving in Britney Thompson and Elena Ferrero.
Kimmy Hopkin scored the third run on a Jenna Macchi double to right field. Ashley Obrest's single down the left field line drove in Macchi and Kristin Allain.
After 1 1/2 innings Boston College led 6-1, however in the bottom half the Yellow Jackets collected seven runs, including a home run.
Kristin Allain connected on her first home run of the year in the fourth inning to give the Eagles their seventh and final run of the game.
Georgia Tech tacked on two more runs in the third and one in the fourth to take an 11-7 lead into the fifth inning. In the bottom half of the inning, the Yellow Jackets scored four runs, including a two-run home run by Caitlin Lever.
The Eagles return to action on Tuesday, April 18, when they host the University of Massachusetts at 4:00 p.m.
