Women's Rowing Competes in Knecht Cup

CAMDEN, N.J. - The Boston College women's rowing team faced windy and rainy conditions on the Cooper River on Saturday, April 8, the first day of action in the Knecht Cup. The Eagles' novice eight finished third in the event's grand final on Sunday, April 9, as weather conditions greatly improved for the second day of racing.
The novice eight crew posted a time of 7 minutes 38.8 seconds and finished behind MIT (7:25.9) and Buffalo (7:32.2), respectively. BC's novice eight captured a first-place finish in its initial heat by finishing 4.8 seconds ahead of MIT.
The Eagles' varsity four raced to a third-place finish in the petite final, finishing behind MIT and Connecticut, respectively. BC's varsity four crew finished the race in 8:39.1. MIT posted a time of 8:26.8, and Connecticut finished in 8:35.1.
The varsity eight crew finished third in the petite final, clocking in at 7:20.5, less than three seconds behind Rhode Island. St. Joseph's won the petite final of the varsity eight, posting a time of 7:15.0.
The Eagles' second varsity eight raced to a fourth-place finish in the petite final, crossing the line at 7:50.4. New Hampshire took first place, posting a time of 7:41.3. Holy Cross and Temple finished second and third, respectively.
BC returns to action on Saturday, April 15, to face Rhode Island on Boston's Charles River.
