Women's Rowing Takes First Place in Jesuit Invitational

CAMDEN, N.J. - The Boston College women's rowing team continued its success at the Jesuit Invitational on Saturday, March 18. Each of BC's two varsity eight boats took first place, and the Eagles raced to a second-place finish in the freshman eight.
BC's first varsity eight captured a first-place finish, posting a time of 6 minutes, 54.93 seconds. Senior Kate Donovan coxed the varsity crew, and junior Bridget Regan stroked the first varsity eight. The Eagles finished 3.92 seconds before second-place Georgetown's first boat. St. Joseph's and Holy Cross rounded out the top four.
In the second varsity eight competition, BC earned first place after racing in 7:07.34. The Eagles crossed the finish line 13.27 seconds before second-place finisher Holy Cross. Senior Lauren Ferrara coxed the second varsity boat, and senior co-captain Elizabeth Millar stroked the varsity crew.
BC's freshman eight raced to a second-place finish, finishing 3.15 seconds behind St. Joseph's. Lauren Gaspary coxed BC's freshman crew, and Heather Schofield stroked the freshman boat.
The Eagles' two varsity four boats finished third and fourth, respectively. Georgetown and Holy Cross finished ahead of BC in the varsity four competition.
The rowing team returns to action on Saturday, March 25, and will compete against Northeastern and Harvard in Boston's Charles River.
