Raleigh, N.C. - Britney Thompson and Jenna Macchi each added a home run for Boston College, but North Carolina State overcame a one-run deficit in the fifth to defeat the Eagles, 7-6, in Raleigh N.C.
Macchi's solo home run in the top of the first gave the Eagles a 1-0 lead, but a solo blast by Jennifer Chamberlin in the bottom of the inning tied it at 1-1.
The Wolfpack took a 5-1 lead in the bottom of the second, scoring four runs, including two on a Shanna Smith triple.
The Eagles battled back in the top of the third, when Renee Ramos doubled and scored on an eventually scored on an error. After Ashley Obrest and Angela Pandolfo reached, Thompson smacked a three run home run to tie the score at 5-5.
Macchi's second RBI gave BC a one-run lead, but the Wolfpack scored the tying and game-winning runs in the fifth on a Lisa Nentwig double.
The Eagles will be back in action Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Storrs, Conn. against UConn.
