Softball Defeats Connecticut, 15-3, on the Road

Storrs, Conn. - The Boston College softball team handed the UConn Huskies a 15-3 defeat in Storrs, Conn., on Wednesday, March 22. Jenna Macchi collected 6 RBI to lead the Eagles past the Huskies. Boston College improves to 8-10 on the season, while UConne falls to 8-11.
The Eagles got started in the first inning when Macchi homored to drive in two batters. In the third inning the Eagles opened up the scoring with five runs. Elena Ferrero singled to drive in two runs, while Britney Thompson's homer drove in three more.
Boston College had a strong inning in the top of the fourth with Macchi scoring on Ashley Obrest's double. Ferrero flied out to left field and drove in Renee Ramos.
In the fifth inning, the Eagles scored their final four runs. Macchi homered for the second time in the game, driving in all four runs.
Savana Lloyd pitched the first inning, allowing two runs on three hits. Thompson pitched the middle three innings, while Amanda Klimczak pitched the final inning for the Eagles.
Boston College takes on Florida State in a doubleheader in Tallahassee, Fla., on Saturday, March 25, at 1:00 and 3:00 and on Sunday, March 26, at 1:00.
