Ryan, Beekman Receive All-ACC First-Team Honors

Junior quarterback Matt Ryan and senior offensive guard Josh Beekman received first-team All-ACC football honors, the league announced Monday. In addition, senior offensive tackle Jim Marten, junior defensive tackle B.J. Raji, and junior cornerback DeJuan Tribble were named to the All-ACC second team.
Junior wide receiver Kevin Challenger and senior safety Ryan Glasper received All-ACC honorable mention honors.
The ACC also announced that Tribble was named Defensive Back of the Week after he tied a school record with three interceptions against Miami Saturday, returning one for a 22-yard touchdown in the second quarter that gave the Eagles a 14-3 lead. The Cincinnati, Ohio., junior also contributed two solo tackles and now has seven interceptions on the season, tying him for the lead in the ACC. Tribble has returned three of those interceptions for touchdowns, which tie season and career records at Boston College.
In addition to Ryan and Beekman, the first-team offense included running backs James Davis (Clemson) and Brandon Ore (Virginia Tech), wide receivers Calvin Johnson (Georgia Tech) and Chansi Stuckey (Clemson), tight end Greg Olsen (Miami), tackles Steve Ballos (Wake Forest) and Barry Richardson (Clemson), guard Nathan Bennett (Clemson) and center Steve Justice (Wake Forest).
The first-team defense included defensive ends Gaines Adams (Clemson) and Calais Campbell (Miami), tackles Joe Anoai (Georgia Tech) and DeMarcus Tyler (N.C. State), linebackers Vince Hall (Virginia Tech), Buster Davis (Florida State) and Jon Abbate (Wake Forest), cornerbacks John Talley (Duke) and Brandon Flowers (Virginia Tech) and safeties Josh Gattis (Wake Forest) and Jamal Lewis (Georgia Tech).
Special Teams players receiving first-team honors included placekicker Sam Swank (Wake Forest), punter Durant Brooks (Georgia Tech) and specialist Darrell Blackman (N.C. State).
The Eagles finished the regular season with a 9-3 record and are eligible for a bowl game for the eighth consecutive season.
