Junior forward Charlie Davies netted a penalty shot in the 29th minute for the game's lone goal and goalkeeper Chris Brown earned his first collegiate shutout to lead Boston College to a 1-0 non-conference victory over Dartmouth in Hanover, N.H., on Wednesday afternoon.
Davies, the ACC leader in goals per game and national leader in points per game, converted on a penalty kick at 28:53. The score marked his 15th goal and 36th point of the season. Both represent school single-season records.
Boston College, which improves to 8-5-1 (3-2-1 ACC), is now 4-1-1 in the last six games. Davies, a native of Manchester, N.H., has recorded 21 points -- nine goals and three assists -- in those six contests.
Brown, a 6-foot-5-inch junior, recorded four saves to earn his fourth win in his sixth career start. The shutout marks BC's second of the season.
Dartmouth goalies Rowan Anders and Sean Milligan, who played one half each, combined for three saves in the contest.
Dartmouth out shot the visiting Eagles, 8-7. The Big Green falls to 4-6-3 overall.
Next, Boston College returns to conference play when it hosts Clemson on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the Newton Campus Field. Game time is 7 p.m.
