Christian Named Assistant Lacrosse Coach

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Katieanne Christian, a 2005 Dartmouth graduate and standout lacrosse player has been named assistant coach of the Boston College lacrosse team, Director of Athletics Gene DeFilippo announced. Christian joins new head coach Bowen Holden for the 2006 campaign.
In 2003 Christian worked at both the Springfield Public School System as a permanent substitute teacher and at the Loomis Chaffee School as an assistant soccer coach. She also was a counselor for two years at the Dartmouth College Elite Lacrosse camp.
"Katieanne brings a wealth of athletic and academic success to Boston College, and there is no question her enthusiasm and determination are contagious," Holden said. "I am looking forward to working with her as we build this program in the years ahead, and I know each student-athlete will benefit greatly from her presence on and off the field."
Christian is a 2005 graduate of Dartmouth College and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. Christian earned many accolades while playing for the Big Green. In 2004 she was inducted into the Dartmouth Athletic Hall of Fame and was a member of the U.S. Women's Lacrosse National team development squad. She was an IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-America and All-Ivy team her sophomore and senior years. Also in her senior year she was named as a Tewaaraton Award Finalist and Co-Ivy Player of the Year.
