Softball Sweeps Dartmouth In Season Finale

Hanover, N.H. - The Boston College softball team posted a pair of 6-0 victories at Dartmouth Thursday afternoon. The games were played at Sachem Field in Hanover, New Hampshire and marked the end of the regular season campaign for the Eagles. With the wins, BC finished the season 20-25 overall. The Big Green is 10-26-1.
In game one, the Eagles scored in four different innings, pushing a single run across in the first and fourth innings. They also scored two runs in both the third and sixth innings. Boston College collected eight hits and took advantage of two Dartmouth errors.
Carley McNary (Norton, Mass.) led off the inning with a bunt single and scored for the game's first run on a two-out single by Britney Thompson (Bountiful, Utah). The Eagles added a pair in the third as McNary tripled to lead off the inning and scored on a Kimmy Hopkin (Dove Canyon, Calif.) fielder's choice. Hopkin then scored on a Dartmouth error, giving BC the 3-0 lead.
In the fourth, doubles by Kristin Allain (Worcester, Mass.) and Elena Ferrero (Van Nuys, Calif.) gave BC a 4-0 lead and two more runs on two hits in the sixth gave BC the final 6-0 win. Daly notched a sacrifice fly in the inning.
Game two was much of the same for Boston College. The Eagles collected 12 hits en route to scoring two runs in the fourth, one in the sixth, and three in the seventh. Jenna Macchi (Milford, Mass.), Angela Pandolfo (Reading, Mass.), and Daly each knocked in two runs. Daly was a perfect 3-for-3 while Macchi was 3-for-4, with a home run.
Thompson pitched the win in game one while Daly got the win in the circle for game two. Both pitched complete games.
