Jared McGuire Named Big East Baseball Player Of The Week

Boston College sophomore third baseman Jared Mcguire went 8-for-10 in a pair of victories last week to earn Big East Player of the Week honors, according to an announcement made by the conference office on Monday.
McGuire had a double and home run in the victories while knocking in four runs and scoring five. He started the day 5-for-6 in BC's 17-0 win over LaSalle, registering a double and two RBIs. In the afternoon game against Temple, the Eagles (3-4) claimed a 10-0 victory behind McGuire's 3-for-4 performance. He belted a two-run home run, the first of his career, in the win.
The sophomore leads the team with a .480 batting average and is tied for the team lead with 12 hits and seven RBIs. McGuire has registered hits in five of BC's seven games, and has 10 in the past three games.
