Senior Drew Locke singled to center field with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to score first baseman Dave Preziosi and give Boston College a 6-5 victory over Lafayette on Sunday in Boca Raton, Fla.
Sophomore Kevin Boggan picked up his second win in four days, setting the Leopards down in order in the top of the ninth. Boggan (2-0) threw three innings of relief to earn the victory over Florida Atlantic on Thursday.
Trailing 5-2 in the bottom of the seventh, the Eagles (8-5) took advantage of poor defense by the Leopards (4-4) to tie the score. Lafayette committed three errors to let the Eagles back in the game. BC did not get one hit in the inning.
Sophomore lefthander Matt Meyer started the game on the hill for BC and lasted six innings, allowing two earned runs. Meyer scattered five hits and struck out three Lafayette batters.
Senior co-captain Jason Delaney was 1-for-3 and extended his hitting streak to 12 games. Delaney leads the team with a .426 batting average.
The win signaled the end of a successful Florida trip for the baseball team, which won eight of nine games in the Sunshine State over an eight-day span.
