The Boston College football team has accepted an invitation to face Boise State in the MPC Computers Bowl in Boise, Idaho on December 28. The Eagles will be making a school-record seventh consecutive bowl game appearance and will be looking for their sixth consecutive bowl game win.
"We are pleased to accept this invitation to the MPC Computers Bowl," Director of Athletics Gene DeFilippo says. "We're happy to have this opportunity. Our friends in the ACC who have been to this bowl in the past have given it rave reviews. We look forward to the experience."
The Eagles are 8-3 and finished with a 5-3 conference record in their first year in the ACC, tied with Florida State for first place in the league's Atlantic Division. They are ranked 19th in both the Associated Press and CNN/USA Today polls and are the first BC team since 1984 to go through the entire season ranked in the top 25 in at least one poll.
"We are honored and excited to have a national program like Boston College as one of the participating institutions in this year's game," said Milford Terrell, Chairman of the MPC Computers Bowl. "Boston College is ranked number 19 in the country and the Co-Champion of the ACC Atlantic Division has had a great season and we look forward to hosting the players, coaches, official party, alumni and fans in what will be one of the best bowl games of the year."
The MPC Computers Bowl will be nationally televised by ESPN. Tickets are on sale and can be purchased through the BC ticket office at www.bceagles.com.
