Chestnut Hill, Mass. - Sherron Manswell capped off senior night in dramatic fashion, netting the gamewinner in the 110th minute to beat Yale 1-0 at Newton Campus Field.
Both teams had chances to get on the board in the first half. In the 21st minute, Yale was on the doorstep, but sophomore goalie Shane Boggis made a spectacular save to keep the game scoreless. Ten minutes before halftime, Hadrien Toure fired a shot just over the crossbar off a feed from Paul Gerstenberger.
BC continued to apply pressure after the intermission, and narrowly missed on two headers, one by Mike Konicoff in the 61st minute, and another by Satoshi Mitsuda in the first overtime.
Mitsuda would be there for the assist in the final minute of play when he redirected a service from Sam Brill towards Manswell. Manswell collected the pass and fired it into the net for his tenth goal of the season.
The win gave two-time national coach of the year Ed Kelly the 200th win of his career.
Seniors Bill Arnault, Brendan Burke, Brendon Ferullo and Mario Nicholas played in their last home game and were honored prior to the match.
The Eagles travel to play North Carolina this Friday at 7 p.m.
