Rowing Competes in Knecht Cup

CAMDEN, N.J. - The Boston College women's rowing team competed in the Knecht Cup on Saturday, April 17, and Sunday, April 18, on the Cooper River. The Eagles placed in the top six in each of two Varsity Four and Varsity Eight events and the Novice Eight competition.
The rowing team placed second in the Grand Final of the Varsity Eight event with a time of 7:03.4, finishing over five seconds behind first-place Massachusetts. The Eagles finished third in the semi-final round after besting Kansas by over seven seconds in their preliminary heat.
The Eagles landed a third-place finish in the second Varsity Four event, finishing behind New Hampshire and Temple, respectively. Boston College finished 0.9 seconds ahead of Villanova for the third-place result.
In the Novice Eight competition, the rowing team finished one second before Massachusetts to grab fourth place in the Grand Final. The Eagles finished behind Kansas, Princeton, and Marist, respectively in the Grand Final competition. Boston College finished behind Massachusetts by 0.8 seconds to nail second place in the semi-final round after having dominated Villanova by over 11 seconds in the preliminary heat to finish first.
The Eagles raced to a fifth-place finish in the Grand Final of the Varsity Four event, finishing less than five seconds before Tulsa. Boston College landed a third-place finish in the semi-finals after winning the preliminary heat, having bested Loyola by 1.5 seconds.
In the Grand Final of the second Varsity Eight event, the Eagles finished sixth. Boston College advanced to the Grand Final after topping Fordham, Villanova, New Hampshire, and Lehigh for a first-place finish in its heat.
