Rowing Captures Four First-Place Finishes

Cambridge, Mass. - The Boston College women's rowing team took first place in four of five events against Rhode Island, New Hampshire, and MIT in the Charles River on Saturday, April 10.
The Eagles exchanged first place finishes with the Rhode Island Rams in the two Varsity Eight competitions. Boston College finished eight seconds ahead of Rhode Island in the first Varsity Eight event while the Rams edged the Eagles by over six seconds in the second Varsity Eight competition. The second-place finish in their second Varsity Eight event was the only second-place finish for the Eagles in any race on Saturday.
Boston College's two Varsity Four squads finished first and second, ahead of third-place Rhode Island, fourth-place New Hampshire, and fifth-place MIT. The Eagles first squad in the Varsity Four grabbed a time of 9:20.6 while the second Eagle team finished at 9:36.4.
The Novice Eight squads picked up first-place finishes in each of their two competitions. In the first Novice Eight, Boston College finished at 8:18.8, ahead of Rhode Island at 8:26.1, MIT at 8:27.6, and New Hampshire at 8:50.4. As for the second Novice Eight, the Eagles cruised to a 8:49.5 finish, ahead of New Hampshire at 9:06.1 and Rhode Island at 9:11.2.
Boston College travels to Camden, N.J., on Saturday, April 17, to compete in the Knecht Cup.
