CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - The baseball team hits the road, looking to regroup from a 2-3 week, as it plays a game at Harvard on Tuesday, April 15, then goes to Connecticut and Rutgers for pivotal BIG EAST doubleheaders on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
The game against Harvard was originally scheduled to be played at Shea Field, but was moved to the Crimson's O'Donnell Field. First pitch is still slated for 3 p.m. Both conference twinbills begin at noon.
The Eagles (16-13, 4-4 BIG EAST) and Crimson last played April 17, 2002, with BC winning, 12-3. Sophomore Drew Locke (Weymouth, Mass.), Jeff Mackor, Brian Durkin and junior Josh DiScipio (Schenectady, N.Y.) all went deep, while sophomore Joe Martinez (South Orange, N.J.) pitched five innings of scoreless relief to earn the win.
Harvard (8-13) is led both at the plate and on the mound by junior Trey Hendricks. He leads the Crimson in all three Triple Crown categories as he's hitting .392 (31-for-79) with four home runs and 20 runs batted in. In 37 innings, he has a 2-1 record, 2.43 earned run average and has struck out 29 batters while walking just three.
Connecticut (16-14, 6-6 BE) had a rough weekend as it was swept in a three-game series by West Virginia. Seniors Peter Soteropoulos and Brett Burnham pace the Huskies' attack as they rank among the league leaders in nine and six offensive categories, respectively. Junior Mike James is second in the BIG EAST in saves with seven. Last season, UConn took both ends of a doubleheader from BC, winning 8-4 and 7-4.
Rutgers (11-13, 5-3 BE) managed a doubleheader split with Seton Hall on Sunday, April 13, in what were its first two home games of the year. Senior second baseman Matt Wolski ranks seventh in the BIG EAST with a .382 batting average, while junior Graig Badger is second in the conference with 15 steals. Senior Sean Atchison, who sports a 1.27 ERA in 16 relief appearances, is one of the BIG EAST's top relievers. Boston College took all three games from Rutgers last year, winning 8-2, 8-4 and 9-6 in Chestnut Hill, Mass., on March 24-25.

NOTES
BROKEN ENGLISH
The Eagles may be disappointed with winning only one of their three games at Virginia Tech last weekend, but that one win was historic as it was BC's first ever at English Field. Prior to Boston College's 3-1 win on Saturday, the team was 0-3 all-time vs. the Hokies. All of those losses came in a three-game sweep March 18-19, 2001.
LIGHTS OUT VERSUS LEFTIES
Boston College's No. 1 and 2 starters, sophomores Chris Lambert (Manchester, N.H.) and Kevin Shepard (Andover, Mass.), have been masterful this year, but they've been especially dominant against left-handed batters. Lefties are hitting just .111 (7-for-63) against Lambert while Shepard is limiting left-handers to a .148 (4-for-27) average.
SIZZLING 'SCIP
Junior second baseman Josh DiScipio (Schenectady, N.Y.) has been BC's hottest hitter lately. In his last six games, 'Scip is hitting .458 (11-for-24), raising his average from .241 to .290, third best on the team.
