Softball Blanked By Missouri, 2-0

Los Angeles, Calif. -- The Boston College softball team dropped a 2-0 contest to Missouri in the consolation game on the third day of the Easton Classic at Easton Stadium on the campus of UCLA. The Eagles stand at 5-8 on the season.
Missouri pushed both of its runs across the plate in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Tigers belted out four hits, including a two-RBI double, that would do all the damage in the game. Missouri collected six total hits on the afternoon.
BC squandered a two-out double by Cara Blumfield (West Hills, Calif.) in the top of the sixth. The Eagles collected four hits on the afternoon from the bats of Blumfield, Kim Hopkin (Dove Canyon, Calif), Erin Mackey (River Forest, Ill.), and Lisa Field (Encinitas, Calif.). Kim Ryan (Bay Shore, N.Y.) took the loss on the mound, falling to 2-2 on the season.
Boston College will next head to Honolulu, Hawaii for the Chevron Malihinni Tournament March 6-9. While there, the Eagles will face Kent State, UC-Riverside, Buffalo, Baylor, Loyola Marymount, and host Hawaii.
