Shepard Named BIG EAST Co-Pitcher Of The Week

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Sophomore Kevin Shepard (Andover, Mass.) received co-BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week honors Monday, March 10, the conference office announced. This is the second time in his career he has garnered this distinction.
Shepard split the award with Notre Dame's Chris Niesel.
The 6-0, 190-pound lefthander helped BC complete a doubleheader sweep of Georgetown on Saturday, March 15 by picking up the win in the Eagles' 5-1 triumph over the Hoyas in the second game of the twinbill.
In improving his record to 2-1 on the season, Shepard went 7.0 innings, allowing one earned run on seven hits. He struck out five and walked one.
Through four starts season, Shepard sports a 2.59 ERA and a .229 opponents' batting average.
Boston College returns to action March 21-23 for a three-game series at Miami. The Friday and Saturday games start at 7 p.m. while Sunday's game begins at 1 p.m. Friday's and Sunday's games are televised on FOX Sports Net Florida.
