It's hard to believe it's all over. From the beginning of September, we have been preparing and training together for our season. From summer workouts, to winter workouts, it has all been geared towards these last two months. Although the season has been filled with its ups and downs, the effort we put in was well worth it.
Friday night we played our last home game. It was the perfect way to end our home season, not only because we easily beat Albany, 21-3, but because every single person on the field contributed. Although we were not heavily contested, we still maintained our high level of effort. It was fun to be out there playing, watching teammates dominate, and seeing every BC player in Alumni Stadium smiling.
Unfortunately, on Sunday against UNH, we were not as successful. We did not play with the same desire, heart, and emotion that we had two days earlier. We appeared to be distracted by the rainy and wet conditions, once again proving that our mental toughness needs improvement. We could make excuses, but in the end, we all know that we just didn't get it done. It certainly was not the ending to our season that we would have liked, but this one loss cannot take away everything else that we have done.
Our season has definitely had its low points, but what is most important is that the high points greatly outweigh all else. It would have been nice to win a few more of those close games, but I would never trade all of the smiles we've had for any win. Losses will be forgotten, but certain games, specific moments, and all of the laughs off the field are memories that will never fade.
