CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. - Powered by an 11-1 run to open the game, Quinnipiac defeated the Boston College men's lacrosse team 24-10 in a game played at Alumni Stadium Wednesday evening. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 0-5 on the season, while the Braves improve to a perfect 6-0.
The brothers Baglio of Quinnipiac victimized junior netminder James Karambay (Newington, CT) throughout the evening. The Baglios, juniors Joe and Mike, chipped in strong offensive performances for the Braves.
A pair of seasoned veterans led Boston College throughout the contest. Senior Andy Koch (Rye, NY) tallied three goals and two assists for head coach Dave Curnick and Co. In addition, classmate James Garth (Fort Worth, TX) contributed three goals and an assist.
Junior Rory Smith (Avon, CT) picked up his first goal of the year.
The Eagles also received strong play from freshman Kevin Dunphy (Kinnelon, NJ), who netted two goals. Fellow rookie John Cella (Cold Spring Harbor, NY), also had a goal.
The Eagles will return to action Saturday, March 31, when they travel to Poughkeepsie, NY to contest Marist College. Game time is Noon.
