BC Catcher Earns NECBL All-Star Honors

Boston College junior catcher Jeff Mackor was named to the New England Collegiate Baseball League All Star Team, according to an announcement made by the league office.
The 2000 NECBL All Star Game will be played on Saturday, July 29 at 7 p.m. at Alumni Field in Keene, N.H. Carlton Fisk, the former Red Sox star who was recently inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame, will throw out the first pitch.
Mackor is batting a .244 with 32 hits and 18 RBIs with the NECBL's Keene Swamp Bats this summer. This past spring, Mackor batted .307, registered 46 hits and hit five home runs to help Boston College qualify for the Big East Tournament for the first time since 1991.
