Winchester, Mass. - Holy Cross defeated Boston College 10-9 in a game played in the name of Joseph M. Murphy III. Murphy, who died July 9, 1999, would have been a freshman on the Holy Cross lacrosse team this spring.
With the loss the Eagles fall to 2-8, while the Crusaders up their record to 3-11.
The Eagles received a strong individual effort from senior Dan Hayden (Lakewood, OH), who tallied five goals and an assist on the day. Junior Michael Adair (New Canaan, CT) chipped in two goals of his own.
Senior captain Tom Gallagher (Point Lookout, N.Y.) made 21 saves on the day.
The Eagles will travel to Fairfield, CT on Wednesday, May 3 to take on the Pioneers of Sacred Heart. Game time is 3:30 p.m.
