Fairfield, Conn. - Behind freshman Stephen Grabow's five-goal effort, Sacred Heart ended Boston College's season with a 13-8 loss. The loss drops the Eagles' record to 2-9, while the Pioneers improve to 7-9.
Leading 8-6 at the end of the third period, Sacred Heart got a goal from Erick Perez at 0:19. That goal sparked a 5-0 run. Included in that run was a natural hat trick from Grabow.
Boston College ended the run with goals by junior Andy Koch (Rye, N.Y.) and sophomore Dan Ripp (Wilton, CT), but the outcome had essentially been decided.
The Eagles had numerous opportunities, however, for they outshot the Pioneers 35-34.
Highlighting the Eagles' effort was Koch, who tallied two goals and three assists on the afternoon. Also contributing a fine effort was senior captain Jason Wren (Sudbury, MA). The senior notched two goals in his final collegiate game.
Senior captain Tom Gallagher (Point Lookout, N.Y.) made a career-high 24 saves on the day.
