Men's Tennis Tops Rhode Island

The men's tennis team played three matched this past weekend, winning one - against Rhode Island - on Saturday, March 25 in Kingston, R.I.
Against the Rams, Boston College won all but one singles match and swept the doubles matches to defeat the University of Rhode Island, 8-1.
Senior Anand Annigeri returned to face Phil Jackson, winning 6-3, 6-2. Junior Matt Stutz won the second singles match, when his opponent retired after losing the first set. Sophomores Colin Kennedy (third), Marc Lucero (fifth), and Tim Brennan (sixth) also won their matches.
Boston College's doubles wins came from the teams of Annigeri and Stutz, Kennedy and junior Chris Mercurio, and freshman Greg Comfort and Brennan.
On Friday, March 24, the Eagles face Marist College, losing 5-4. Boston College played without their top two singles players and dropped the top four singles matches. Sophomore Marc Lucero and sophomore Tim Brennan won the fifth and sixth matches. Lucero defeated Patrick Dahnert, 6-3, 6-2, while Brennan topped Juan Carlos Delgado, 6-3, 6-4.
The Eagles won two doubles matches to earn two points, but fell a point short overall.
On Tuesday, March 28, Boston College fell to Yale, 8-1, in a match played in New Haven, Conn.
Kennedy took the Eagles only win in singles, defeating Ryan Coyle, 7-5, 6-3.
Boston College will next face Dartmouth on Friday, March 31 in Hanover, N.H.
