Softball Opens 2000 Season Down South

Chestnut Hill, Mass. - The Boston College softball team will travel south to open its season at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga. this weekend.
The Eagles, who finished the 1999 season with a 27-20 record, will open the season with a pair of March 3 games against national powers. BC will face Hawaii at noon before taking on LSU at 2:30 p.m.
On Saturday, March 4, the Eagles will take on Michigan at 10 a.m. to complete the round-robin portion of the tournament. Following the first three games, teams will be seeded and continue play through Sunday, March 5.
Boston College will be on the road until March 28, when Holy Cross comes to town for a doubleheader at Shea Field.
