Softball takes two from Holy Cross

Chestnut Hill, Mass.---For the first time this season, the Boston College Eagles swept a doubleheader, to improve their record to 5-9.
In the first of two between the Eagles and the Crusaders, BC got a solid outing of junior Gretchen Thompson(Brea, CA). The right-hander pitched a complete game, allowing one run on three hits, striking out seven with one walk. Thompson picked up her second win of the season.
The Eagles explded for 11 hits with three Eagles having multiple hits. Junior Chris Vicari(Totowa, N.J) went two for three with a run batted in.
In game two the Eagle bats remained hot with 16 hits. Trailing 3-1, BC got five runs in the top of the sixth to take a 6-1 lead. Vicari once again led the team at the plate going 3-4, upping her batting average to a team-high .350.
Freshman Brooke Shull(San Diego, CA) earned her first collegiate win going three and a third innings allowing zero runs on one hit, while fanning three.

Boston College is now 5-9 and will travel to Hofstra University two play two on Thursday afternoon.
