PROVIDENCE, R.I -- The Lady Friar softball team fell to Boston College, 4-1 in Providence, R.I. in BIG EAST softball action.
BC's Jennifer Perrotte hit a two-run homer in the second inning to give the Eagles the 2-0 early lead. The Friars responded with a run in the bottom of the second as freshman catcher Gwyn Mangini scored. In the third inning, Perrotte hit a single, scoring another Boston College run and they added the fourth run in the top of the seventh inning.
PC junior Amanda Rose tallied two hits for the Friars in the losing effort. Freshman Robyn West allowed 10 hits from the mound and struck out three. Providence falls to 9-11 while Boston College improves to 14-3.
