CHESTNUT HILL, Mass--Boston College swept its final two BIG EAST games versus Rutgers University on Sunday afternoon.
In game one the Eagles score three runs in the top of the first on way to their 10th BIG EAST victory.
In the top of the first sophomore Summer Jarratt(Manhattan Beach, CA) and junior Gretchen Thompson(Brea, CA) led off the game with back to back singles. Senior Jen Murray(Attleboro, MA) knocked them both in with a two run single up the middle.
Junior Mary Dietz recorded her seventh straight win, going six and a third innings. Dietzgave up four runs on 10 hits striking out two. Freshman Brooke Shull(San Diego, CA) recorded her fourth save of the season.
In game two Junior Julie Ulbrich(Leonia, N.J.) went 2-3 with two RBI to lead the Eagles to the 6-3 win.
Freshman Brooke Shull(San Diego, CA) picker up her first career BIG EAST victory. Shull went the distance giving up three runs on five hits with a strikeout.
