Matthew Gray is in his first season as the video coordinator at Boston College. Gray comes to the Heights after spending the past two seasons as a graduate assistant at Baylor.
Gray was an integral part of the Bears' run to the 2021 NCAA Championship. He assisted with all facets of the program, from opponent scouting, to on-campus recruiting activities, to pre- and post-game video analysis on Sportscode. Gray also spent significant time assisting with on-court player development. In recognition of the hard work, dedication, and long hours on the court, former Baylor guard Davion Mitchell invited Gray to join him in the Green Room at the 2021 NBA Draft. Mitchell was the ninth selection, going to Sacramento.
Prior to his time in Waco, Gray worked closely with Canada Basketball, working in player development at the National Training Centre. In that role, Gray directed and developed training programs for professional and collegiate players, while evaluating and monitoring the progress of Canada Basketball's targeted athletes. He created detailed reports summarizing each individual player's improvement and served as the Senior National B team's player development coach.
A 2019 graduate of the University of Waterloo with a degree in recreation and sports business, Gray served as the Warriors' player development coach, developing and integrating a wide range of sport-specific skill programs tailored to the players' individual strengths and weaknesses.
