March 07, 2026 | Men's Hockey
Gustafsson and Joyce both score for BC
CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. – The No. 13 Boston College men's hockey team dropped the regular season finale to Northeastern on Saturday evening at Kelley Rink by a score of 4-2. Lukas Gustafsson and Nolan Joyce each scored for the Eagles, while Ryan Conmy had two assists.
Boston College moves to 19-14-1 overall and 13-11-0 in Hockey East, while Northeastern improves to 16-17-1 overall and 11-13-0 in league play.
The Eagles opened the scoring inside the first three minutes of the game. BC went on the power play, and scored immediately after the faceoff. Gustafsson ripped a shot from the point that took a fortunate deflection off the stick of a Northeastern defenseman and went into the back of the net.
Joyce added a second for Boston College three minutes into the second period. J. Hagens collected the puck in his own zone before finding the Westwood, Mass. native down the right flank. Joyce then rifled one far post of the Husky goaltender.
Northeastern responded minutes later with a backhanded goal to cut its deficit in half with 14:07 remaining in the period. The Huskies grabbed the equalizer with two minutes to go in the middle frame with a power play goal from Giacomo Martino.
Right after the first media timeout of the third period, Northeastern claimed its first lead. A pad-save from Louka Cloutier landed fortuitously in front of a Husky player, who found the upper right corner to make it 3-2. The Huskies added another goal midway through the third to double the BC deficit.
