MIAMI - Boston College Baseball (8-6, 1-1 ACC) fell to Miami (12-3, 1-1 ACC) on Saturday night, 5-3.

Tyler Mudd started for the Eagles and went four innings while striking out two and allowing four earned runs. Boston College then got four innings of scoreless relief from John D Mitchell and Luke D'Ancona, who each allowed only one hit while combining for five strikeouts.

The Hurricanes got the scoring started early with three runs in the first inning. Miami struck first on a double to left field that scored one before getting two more on a bases-loaded walk and a sac fly.

The Eagles got on the board in the top half of the next inning when Luke Gallo grounded out to the first baseman to bring in Jack Toomey from third.

In the bottom of the third and fourth, the Hurricanes launched back-to-back solo shots to push their lead to 5-1.

Boston College got two back at the top of the eighth, all coming with two outs. Julio Solier singled after two strikeouts, and then two pitches later, Ty Mainolfi doubled to give the Eagles runners on second and third for Nick Wang. Wang then worked a full count before lacing a double to center field that brought in Solier and Mainolfi.
