Eagles Take Midweek In Comeback Style

Providence, R.I. - The Boston College softball team (11-23, 2-4 ACC) defeated Providence College 10-7 (14-13) in comeback style on the road on Tuesday afternoon.
Providence jumped on the board quickly scoring six runs across the first two innings. BC was waiting back to start their offensive strike in the fourth inning. Katelyn Deguire started the scoring off with an infield RBI placing runners on first and third. Holly Paharik followed up with a single down the left field line to score another and cut the lead to 2-6.
The Eagles followed up the top of the inning with a great defensive showing with back-to-back diving plays from Paharik at third and Nicole Riddell in right to end the inning.
In the fifth, Emma Knight and Abby Ptak each added a hit for Martinez to come up to the plate and hit her fifth home run of the season making it a 5-7 ballgame.
The Eagles used three hits to score three runs in the top of the sixth. Paharik started the inning off with a single to left followed by Kae DePerio with a hit to the same side. Ptak would then take the lead off one swing as she took the ball over the left fence making the score 8-7.
Bailey Kendziorski held strong in the circle holding the Friars to no runs as the Eagles would add two more in the seventh to take the game 10-7.

- This is the seventh multi home run game of the season
- Adriana Martinez and Abby Ptak each hit their fifth home run of the season
- The Eagles totaled 12 hits, the 10th double digit hit game this season
