Atlanta, Ga. - The Boston College softball team (11-25, 2-9 ACC) fell in both games of their doubleheader with Georgia Tech (22-20, 7-10 ACC) on Friday night.

Game 1 - BC 8 | GT 11

Georgia Tech jumped on the board in the first inning to start with a 3-0 lead. BC responded in the top of the second with a RBI single from Nicole Riddell.

Emma Knight stepped up in the third, hitting her ninth home run of the season off a solo shot to left as she cut the lead in half at 2-4.

The fifth inning brought in four runs for the Eagles. Kae DePerio and Sammy Horn reached base and advanced to second and third. Abby Ptak singled to the left side to score DePerio. Adriana Martinez hit the two runners home with her sixth homer of the season.

Knight would come back to tie the game in the sixth with a single that scored two making the game 8-8.

Bailey Kendziorski would hold the Yellow Jackets in the sixth but ultimately let up a home run in the seventh to finish the game 11-8 in favor of GT.

Game 2 - BC 1 | GT 5

BC used the momentum of the first game to jump ahead in the first inning with an RBI from Ptak to score Horn. GT would score at the bottom of the inning to tie it back up till the third.

The Yellow Jackets extended the lead further in the fifth scoring the final three runs of the game to take it 5-1.

GAME NOTES

Sammy Horn led the team in the leadoff position with a .429 batting average across the two games

Emma Knight and Adriana Martinez each hit a home run in the first game
