Payne leads Eagles with 20 points, Asemota tallies career-high 10 points and three blocks
DALLAS, Texas - Boston College fell to SMU on the road, 94-70, Saturday evening. Fred Payne led the team with 20 points, while Jason Asemota recorded career-highs in points (10) and blocks (3).

- Boden Kapke and Fred Payne drained corner three pointers to keep the game within one score in the opening minutes for BC
- Chase Forte and Luka Toews followed suit with three pointers of their own to take a 12-11 edge with 14:21 left in the half
- Both sides traded the lead, then connected on a combination of paint points and threes. The Mustangs held a one-point lead at the eight-minute media mark
- BC took advantage right before the four-minute media, as Jason Asemota scored back-to-back three's to give the visitors a 36-29 lead
- SMU followed with an 11-0 run to close out the half, holding a 40-36 advantage going into halftime
- The game stayed within two possessions before SMU used an 8-0 run to make it a double-digit lead with 14:24 remaining
- Kapke and Asemota added physical slam dunks midway through the second half
- SMU would hold the lead for the rest of the game, taking a 94-70 decision
- Fred Payne led Boston College with 20 points, making it 23 of 27 games where he's scored in double-digits
- Jason Asemota recorded a career-high 10 points and three blocks. He also matched a season-high eight rebounds in the contest
- All nine players who saw game action recorded at least one point, the second time this season
- Boston College moves to 2-12 in ACC play and 9-18 in the regular season
- The Eagles' all-time series record against SMU moves to 3-0
- Boston College returns to Chestnut Hill to host Wake Forest on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

- Tuesday's meeting will be the 34th overall meeting between the Eagles and Demon Deacons. BC holds a 17-16 series lead.
- Wake Forest claimed last year's contest in Winston-Salem, N.C. in a 72-66 decision
