BC Suffers Road Loss to Florida State

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Boston College women's basketball suffered an 85-76 loss to Florida State on Thursday evening in the Donald L. Tucker Center. The Eagles fall to 4-23 and 0-14 in the league, while the Seminoles move to 9-16 and 4-9 in the ACC.
Lily Carmody tied a team best with 18 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field and went 6-for-7 from the line. The sophomore added four rebounds and three assists. Teionni McDaniel came off the bench for 18 points, shooting 7-for-14 from the floor.
Erin Houpt rounded out the leaders with 12 points, while Athena Tomlinson led the team with five rebounds and four assists.
The Eagles trailed by as many as 22 in the second quarter before a 9-0 run, started by a Houpt trifecta, led to a 13-point deficit. Carmody and Tomlinson later sliced the gap to 48-38 going into the break after scoring a pair of baskets with just over a minute left in the frame.
Florida State kept the Eagles at bay in the second half, not allowing BC to get any closer than six in the fourth. McDaniel scored four straight with under a minute left in the game to bring the score to 82-76. However, the hosts sealed the win at the line.
The Eagles return to action on Sunday at 12 p.m. against Miami in Conte Forum.
