WEEK ONE: BC 66, Fordham 10
» In his first career collegiate start, Dylan Lonergan completed 26-of-34 passes for 268 yards and four touchdowns. Lonergan’s completion percentage (76%) was the highest for a Boston College quarterback since Chase Rettig took on Villanova in the 2013 season opener.
» Lewis Bond’s 11 catches for 138 yards earned him new career highs in each category. Bond recorded his third career game with 100-plus receiving yards, the first time since playing Michigan State last September. Bond needs 63 catches to break Zay Flowers’ record as the all-time leader in career receptions.
» Jaedn Skeete recorded his first-career two-touchdown game after grabbing an 11-yard touchdown in the first quarter and a 13-yard touchdown in the second quarter. Skeete doubled his touchdown reception number from a season ago in week one.
» Bam Crouch intercepted Fordham in the third quarter and returned the ball 28 yards for a touchdown, the first of his career. The last time Boston College had a defensive touchdown was on November 30, 2024 vs. Pittsburgh, when DL Ty Clemons recorded an interception and went 55 yards for a score.
» Charlie Comella blocked his first career punt in the third quarter vs. Fordham, setting up a four-yard touchdown run by Turbo Richard shortly after. The last time the Eagles blocked a punt came on December 28, 2024, when defensive back Victor Nelson blocked a punt in the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl vs. Nebraska.
» Boston College totaled 66 points in the season opener, the most points they’ve scored since they knocked off Howard 76-0 on September 12, 2015. On September 8, 2018, Boston College scored 62 points vs. Holy Cross. Before these two contests, the last time Boston College scored 60 or more points came in 1993, when the Eagles defeated Temple 66-14 on September 25 of that year.
» The Eagles totaled 555 yards on offense, the most since putting up 563 yards vs. Duquesne last season on September 7, 2024. Quarterbacks Dylan Lonergan and Grayson James threw for 458 combined passing yards, the most passing yards the Eagles have thrown for since December 5, 2020 at Virginia, when the team threw for 520 yards.
» Boston College did not commit any turnovers in the win against Fordham. The team had three games last season where they did not commit a turnover, with the last one being on November 30, 2024 vs. Pittsburgh.
