BC Football Routs Fordham in Season Opener

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. - Boston College football began the 2025 season with a dominant 66-10 win over Fordham on Saturday afternoon at Alumni Stadium. The Eagles start the season 1-0.
The offense totaled 555 yards led by Dylan Lonergan in a stellar debut, going 26-of-34 for 264 yards and four touchdowns. Lewis Bond turned in a career day, catching 11 passes for 138 yards.
Jaedn Skeete caught two of Lonergan's touchdown passes, and Reed Harris and Jordan McDonald hauled in one each themselves, respectfully. Eleven different receivers caught a pass on the day, while the combo of Lonergan and Grayson James combined for 458 yards on 31-of-39 passing. James went 5-for-5 for 190 yards and one touchdown. Turbo Richard led the rushing attack with 48 yards on 16 carries and a score.
Boston College got off to a fast start, scoring touchdowns on its first two drives of the game, with Lonergan finding McDonald for his first-career touchdown pass to cap off a 13-play drive. After Fordham hit a field goal, Lonergan found Skeete on an 11-yard touchdown pass to extend the lead to 14-3. It wasn't until the second quarter, with 26 seconds left, that Skeete caught his second touchdown of the day to send the Eagles into the half with a 21-3 cushion.
The Eagles poured it on in the second half, scoring 45 points in the third and fourth quarters thanks to seven different Eagles finding the end zone, highlighted by a Bam Crouch pick six in the third quarter. BC cruised to victory with its highest scoring output since outscoring Howard 76-0 in 2015.
Defensively, Boston College accounted for eight tackles for loss and three sacks. Crouch led BC with six tackles, a sack, and an interception.
BC returns to action next week in the first of back-to-back road games, beginning with Michigan State next Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on NBC.
